Severe Back Leg Pain
Erin Said:
I am 37 weeks pregnant induction due to severe back pain and leg numbness? We Answered:
No, it sounds like you have sciatic , I had it also around that time in the pregnancy, if you haven't dropped yet, when you do the pressure from your baby will relieve that pain, or you maybe just dropped a little and it is putting pressure of your back. sciatic is when you have a pinched nerve in your back that causes back pain as well as leg numbness, there was also times where it was really hard to walk, my doctor took me off work early because of it. I use to take a tylenol or two to relieve the pain, I was also given a list of stretches to do, and was told to do hot and cold compressions on my lower back to relieve some pressure. Hang in there I know it's not the funnest thing to go through, but it should go ways soon enough, I had it for a couple weeks then she finally moved down and let off some of that pressure on the nerve. good luck!Eleanor Said:
Severe leg and back pain following colonoscopy? We Answered:
I am so sorry for your son. Only those who were in the room and awake are aware of what happened. This reminded me of another reason why I have never been sedated for a colonoscopy. If they aren't taking call the facilities risk manager. If they still have no explanation, call a lawyer. Preferably it would be a lawyer who is also a doctor. Good luck.Erik Said:

Severe back & leg pain....what could it be?We Answered:
Get to a Dr. these symptoms are nothing to fool around with..something may be pressing on your sciatic nerve, as the pain goes down the back of Your leg and crosses to the front. you need follow up by a Dr.Neil Said:
What is it when i have severe leg pain in the back when i sit?We Answered:
I have bad news for u. You have a herniated disc, the L5S1. I know from experience. I had back surgery, my ex wife had it 3 times, my son, and my daughter all had it.Started as back pain, progressed to pain deep in my left buttock, would travel down my leg to my foot, numbness in the back of my thigh, calf, top of my foot, and the outer toes. I also could not sit unless i used my arms to help hold up my weight and i was walking with a limp. You need to see a doctor and get it diagnosed. They will do an MRI to located it. A neurosurgeon will do the surgery. It's about a 3-4 inch incision about 6-8 inches about the but crack.
It won't get better, only surgery will do it. If ur feeling numbness in the back of ur thigh, calf, top of the foot, and the outer toes u better go to the doctor. That's the nerve being pinched and if u let it go like that too long it will permanently damage the nerve.
There are risks involved in the surgery so talk it over with ur doc and make the decision. Good luck.

I recently had a nerve test where they inserted needles into my back and now I have severe leg pain?We Answered:
Don't hesitate, act now. Call your doctor and explain it to him. The more you wait, the more suspicious they will when you call them a month or more later. Goodluck.
