stiff neck pain(help!!?

We Answered:

No you have not slept wrong or anything.

WHAT IS STIFF NECK AND WHY DO WE GET IT?

we get it out of stress or hard work dureing day. Sometimes its growing pains. So its not a big deal.

HOW TO GET RID OF IT FAST

take a hot pack and put it on the areas that hurt. Sometimes people but these paches that they sell in boxes you just stick them on your neck. This works alot with necks fill the tub with hot water put salt in it dip your-self in and the next day your neck will be more flex than the day before.

MASSAGES DONT HELP STIFF NECKS

Massages give pressure and pressure makes the neck stiffer i suggest that you should do the simple ways to the path of relief.

IS IT THE WAY I SLEEP?

sometimes yes. Bescause if you pillow is toooo high your neck goes through stress. If your pillow is tooooo low or sleep with out one your neck has no support. If your pillow is just right.....you will not have stiffness.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

3 or 4 days if it last a week or more you may have a nerve out of place or a bone in your neck out of place. See a doctor becuase he will tell what doctor to go to.

IS THERE ANONTHER KIND OF MASSAGE THAT WORKS?

yes. vibrations help alot becuase it losens it up.

CAN HERBS WORK JUST LIKE THE INDIANS?

of course herbs are the oldest meds. Island people use mint leaves grind them up and put it on there cuts. Mint leaves give a tingle so it would work on necks.

WILL ADVIL OR ANY PILLS WILL WORK?

sometime no becuase it takes a long time to activate and so keep it simple and dont kill your self eating pills every 2 hours becuase it doesn't work!

Stiff neck pain remedy needed please help?

We Answered:

Hi Curious,
It must be a sprain or strain on your neck, you could apply some massage oil if it fail to work you can try using a heating pad. It increases the blood circulation and soothes the muscles.

I would say a warm compress or childrens asprin. Perhaps a combination of both. If It is still bothering her after 3 days, I'd probably seek medical attention.

Best way to relieve a stiff neck and shoulder pain?

We Answered:

even if it was because of your sleeping, it's passed that point now;; you should know better than to wait this long before you get it checked out;; I say 3 days, it's a doc visit;; the longer the symptoms, the harder to treat;; now, the "stiffness" in both your neck & shoulder already state that there is muscle imbalance, & frankly, tissue takes 6 wks to heal, so, yeah, your in trouble @ this point;; you've got to incorporate stretches, but you really need much more;; get to the doc, get a diagnosis (cuz this MAY involve more than just your muscles), get treatment, ask for PT...good luck!!

how can you get rid of a stiff neck without pain and no pills?

We Answered:

A. Have someone massage it
B. Take a hot shower and let the water run on it
C. Go to the chiropractor

Just don't try to pop it yourself; it can result in serious injury or snapping of the neck.

.:Good luck:.

best way to relieve stiff neck pain besides hot pad?

We Answered:

I bought an electronic muscle stimulator. It may not be as comfortable as getting an actual massage but the electronic signals it sends to the muscles to contract them has the same effect. Check them out on Amazon, they cost about 40 to 100 usd.

Edit:

The muscle stimulators are great for gettin grid of the pain and you can use anywhere else on your body but if you have been suffering from neck pains from a long time or if they continue, you might want to get to the root of the problem which could be a number of things including stress, sleeping position, diet or something to do with your neck muscles so go to a doctor if the pain continues.

how to sleep to not get a pain stiff neck?

We Answered:

I have similar problems. Part of the answer depends on whether you sleep on your side or on your back.

If you are a side sleeper, you need to pay attention to the angle of your head and your spine. If you pillow is too thin, your head will be bent and leaning towards you pillow at a downward angle. A thicker pillow (firm foam usually works best) will get your head higher and keep your neck on the same angle as your spine.

If you are a back sleeper, you need to have a little extra support under the outer edge of the pillow that supports your neck. A small towel folded under the outer edge of your pillow will help.

Hope this helps. I was literally at the chiropractor this morning getting my neck adjusted.

Discuss It!
