Teenage Depression Causes
Bryan Said:
Is it possible Facebook is causing teenage depression? We Answered:
Of course not.First of all, just because two things correlate (happen at the same time) does not mean that one is causing the other.
Second of all, depression has always been common during adolescence, since way before social networking sites existed.

Teenage depression?We Answered:
For my son, it was repressed grief. When my Mom died he never went through the grief process, and then it hit him hard when he started High School and had the added stress. His depression was short-lived though once he grieved for his Grandma--itonly lasted a year. He did have to go on meds though for that time. I believe Hormones played a very significant role in his depression though. At the same time, he was going through the end of puberty, and had a flush of hormones at one time that played havok on his brain.Agnes Said:

Depression caused by to much teenage hormones? We Answered:
I know this sounds too easy, but if you don't spend a lot of time outside try that. Go sit in the sun and read a book or listen to music for about an hour (wear some sunscreen) everyday and see if that helps any. also, try talking to your parents or another trusted adult (a friend, sunday school teacher, or youth/regular pastor) and see if they ever had the same problem and what they did about it, my guess is that they will have some tips. Another thing you might try, is if you listen to a lot of angry or depressing music get some happy music, stuff that is light and upbeat and cheerful. I know that sounds stupid but whenever I start getting depressed my music choices do to and when I switch after a while I feel a little better. One last thing: smile. Studies have actually shown that our facial expressions can actually affect our mood, weird huh?Melinda Said:

cause and effects on teenage depression? We Answered:
Hi Lady, Depression is a disease that afflicts the human psyche in such a way that the afflicted tends to act and react abnormally toward others and themselves. Therefore it comes to no surprise to discover that adolescent depression is strongly linked to teen suicide. Adolescent suicide is now responsible for more deaths in youths aged 15 to 19 than cardiovascular disease or cancer (Blackman, 1995). Despite this increased suicide rate, depression in this age group is greatly underdiagnosed and leads to serious difficulties in school, work and personal adjustment, which may often continue into adulthood. Brown (1996) has said the reason why depression is often over looked in children and adolescents is because "children are not always able to express how they feel." Sometimes the symptoms of mood disorders take on different forms in children than in adults.... read the complete essay here:
