Teenage Depression Support

Help! Teenage depression!?

We Answered:

You should talk to someone (a counselor at school maybe) about how you feel. You should not take on your friend's depression while trying to deal with your own. Depression is hard, I know because I have been there several times and without help, it can get so bad that people try to find 'ways to get out'. Don't wait until it gets that bad before getting help. You should have as many people as possible around you for support because it's not something that a person can just 'get over'. Feeling bad about yourself is a symptom of depression. I know you are worried about your mother and school but, talking about it does help and the counsel might even be able to help with the work at school. I wish you the very best and will keep you in my prayers.

If you have already been self harming to yourself you should go get professional help (phsychiatist). I can not tell you how extremely important it is for you to bring this to someone's attention before it gets worse. Self harm will lead to nothing but scars. The reason people hurt themselves is to feel the pain because that pain is (in their minds) better than the pain in real life. PLEASE TALK TO SOMEONE because life will get better for you. We all have been teased for one reason or another, try to shrug it off because it means nothing. You need to work on you and get some of your worries under control. Isn't school out for the summer? Can't you spend some time working on your feelings? No matter the answers to the questions, talk to someone!
Again, I wish you the best because I know it's hard right now but, IT WILL GET BETTER!!!

Are there any online support groups for teens with depression??

We Answered:

I don't know of any, and I'm sure there are, but I do know that this area we call "answers" has many people with excellent wisdom and experience that may help you, in your walk in general. Ask this group here some of the questions that may be troubling you, through the answers you may be able to decipher ways that will help you in gaining control over your moods. Life is wonderful. But no one said it was easy, this thing we call living. There may trials and tests that it seems we are forever going through. If we allow our selves to seek out the answers that we need to life's hard questions we'll be better members of society and at the same time broaden our thinking. There are many groups that can help, google, "sights for teens feeling depressed" I"m sure something worthwhile will come up. And then there's this sight right here.

Andrea Said:

Am I suffering from teenage depression?

We Answered:

It is very plausible. I urge you to seek help immediately- talk to a trusted friend, adult, teacher/coach, religious leader, and to also talk to a counselor. There are many different treatment options, You do not have to go through this alone, but you need to seek help for yourself. Depression is a chronic condition, and most likely will not go away by "trying to see the brighter things in life." If you being to feel hopeless and have thoughts of suicide, visit suicidehotlines.com for help. Most importantly, you do not need to suffer from depression. There are many options to get help for you, and I encourage to try different things and see what works for you.

Teenage depression, really bad...?

We Answered:

We are ALL ****** up. Don't feel so bad. It's no wonder your pissed off. It sounds to me like noone respects you. I have been dealing with depression since I was in the Third grade. I didn't find out I had ADD until I was 27 or 28 and I figured that one out on my own. I'm not gonna lie being a Teenage girl is Hell. I bet your very smart, and sensitive. And when your a teenager and so many girls out there are stupid little bitches that only care about the stupidest **** you just wanna *****-slap them and then puke. If there is anyway possible you need to get your OWN room. Every girl needs their own space, Especially introverts, it is bad for people like us not to have any (ME) space. I know how hard it is and it might takes years but if you can learn to accept that you are the way you are, and be ok with it. It does get better. You've gotta say LOOK EVERYONE...**** OFF!!! I'm not like you and Glad I'm not. I know I'm weird..and mental, I can function in normal society because I'm on lots of drugs :) legal ones now..
Remember this also. Depression the chronic kind that doesn't go away is usually from a chemical imbalance. You might just need to up your seotonin levels or maybe your body does'nt make enough Dopamine. Getting the right Medicine can help tremendously. What ever you do don;t hold all that anger inside you. It really can make you sick. Depression ***** up your entire body, not just your head. Find yourself a good Doctor, one that really wants to help you feel better, not just some Asshole who wants to dope you up to shut you up. (This can take a long time) But YOU are hiring THEM, if you don't like them find someone better. Good Luck Girl I hope you go out there and Kick ***
